Charlie Luce
INDUCTEE 2015 - Charlie Barton Luce was a GHS Football Coach from 1958-1967. Charlie was an Assistant Football Coach for 8 years and Head Football Coach for 1 year, winning the state championship. Charlie also coach basketball and was the head basketball coach for 8 years winning several Fairfield County championships and made the state tournament all 8 years. He also coached boys tennis while at GHS. Charlie left Greenwich and went on to be the Head Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Boston University, Head Basketball Coach at Connecticut College and then became the Athletic Director of the college. Charlie has been honored by Boston University and received a Medal of Honor from Connecticut College. Connecticut College built a field house and has named it the “Charles B. Luce Field House”. He was honored as a “Daily News” Basketball coach of the Year . Charlie coached for 3 years at Dobbs Ferry where he produced a winning record and brought many championships to the school. Charlie is now retired and resides in Pennsylvania.
